June 6, 2025 - Driving to Alaska

Departing the Bushplane Museum and Sault Ste. Marie, we got on Trans-Canada Highway (ON-17) and headed north on the eastern shore of Lake Superior. Our destination for today was Marathon, Ontario. Only about four and one half hours driving today. |

Most of today's drive was through hilly forest with occasional rock cliffs on the side of the two-lane highway.

| Marathon is a little town a couple of miles south of the Trans-Canada Highway, on the shore of Lake Superior. We stayed at this Travelodge which was nice. | ||||||

| The thing to do in Marathon is see the Pebble Beach, so we did. Here it is. | ||||||
